Sandy Horwitz is the President and Founder of Innovative Wine Cellar Designs, the nation’s leading full-service custom wine cellar firm. With more than two decades of experience, Sandy has helped redefine wine storage as a fully integrated architectural feature—designed not just to preserve collections, but to elevate how wine is displayed, experienced, and shared. Under his leadership, the company has executed projects ranging from traditional, temperature-controlled wood cellars to striking contemporary wine walls featured in luxury residences and hospitality environments nationwide. His work reflects a comprehensive understanding of construction, refrigeration engineering, and spatial planning—ensuring every installation is structurally sound, mechanically precise, and visually compelling. His ability to see a project through both a construction and design lens allows wine features to integrate seamlessly into the overall architecture of a space. Sandy is known for cultivating long-term relationships with architects, builders, designers, and private clients. His collaborative approach allows each project to move efficiently from concept to completion, balancing technical execution with design intent. His work has received national recognition, including the 2025 ICONIC Design Awards—earning The ICONIC Award for Excellence in Interior Design // Dining Room and a Silver Award for Excellence in Interior Design // Hospitality. Innovative Wine Cellar Designs has also been featured in numerous design and lifestyle publications across the country. Before founding Innovative Wine Cellar Designs, Sandy owned the Arizona franchise of California Closets, operating two showrooms in Scottsdale and Phoenix and significantly expanding brand visibility and revenue growth in the region. Prior to that, he served as President of a large jewelry manufacturing company in South Dakota, overseeing more than 100 employees. During that time, he established a vocational training partnership with the local technical school to develop skilled workforce talent while the manufacturing facility was being built. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sandy remains deeply committed to community engagement. He supports and participates in multiple local charities across the Valley and believes strongly in giving back to the community that has supported his company’s growth. His leadership philosophy extends beyond business—rooted in mentorship, contribution, and long-term impact.
